Write Your Truth – Why AI Can’t Replace Your Authentic Voice

I have been asked several times whether it’s OK to use AI to write a goodbye or farewell letter. My honest answer: something is better than nothing. If using AI helps you take that first step, then that’s considered acceptable in my opinion.
Here is my truth: I think your letter will be far more meaningful and powerful to both you and the person receiving it if you write it yourself, imperfections and all. Don’t worry about it being perfect, worry about it being real.
AI is more clinical and not as heartfelt and personal as what you can express through your own experiences, words and emotions. AI can give your letter structure, but it can’t capture your heart. Authenticity matters more than perfection.
If you are like so many others and don’t know where to begin in your letter writing journey, the LastGoodbyeLetters.com website has simple tools to help. Scroll to the bottom of the HOME page to How To Write Your Own Letter for guidance. Or, grab a few friends, a church group, book club, pint night crew and have your own letter writing workshop. Click the Workshops & Tutorials link at the top of the website to download and follow the step-by-step instructions on how to write a letter.
If you feel like your letter writing experience was helpful, please share your letter and your story. Use the Share Your Story links found throughout the website. You will remain anonymous, but your letter might help others feel less alone as they try to find the right words themselves.
